A Guide to Love and Self Care, My Gift to You

Dearest beloved Friends and Clients,

I am sending you so much love and deep, deep nourishment as we begin moving towards the holiday season this coming week.

As we are now stepping into the colder months, it is truly a time when we are invited to go within and take deep, loving care of ourselves. Soon, we will be pouring a lot of energy outwards towards our friends and family as we celebrate the Holiday season together. These times can bring up a lot of emotions: joy, love, excitement, pleasure, anticipation, a rush of childhood exuberance. While, on the other side of the spectrum, it can bring up sadness, loneliness, grief, anger, frustration and overwhelm.

It’s so vital for us to take the deepest care of ourselves now to set a strong foundation to keep our precious being in balance. Here are some suggestions from my own personal daily practice of self-care.

First thing in the morning:

Upon awakening, take a moment of gratitude. Sometimes our minds can get very active first thing in the morning and go into looping in fear. If we can quietly invite our minds into Gratitude it can shift or consciousness hugely.

Begin the practice like this: Either out loud or internally: I am so grateful for this bed to be able to rest in in such comfort. I am so grateful for my friends, family, and whatever comes to mind that brings up feelings of grateful reflection. This can be fun. You may find yourself sending out waves of  love to all the people in your life and letting it ripple across out into the universe . It’s beautiful to begin your day like this.

Healing breath: Spend one to three minutes deep breathing.

Slowly breathe in one breath, let it out. Next, breathe in a three part breath.

Breathe in all that you are calling within. Start with your belly, your mid chest and your upper chest up to your collarbone. Joy, love, healing, nourishment, peace, balance. Enjoy this practice for one to three minutes or longer if you desire.

Optimum hydration: Upon rising: Drink 16 oz. warm lemon water.

Sit in meditation. Whether it is a mantra or quiet, however you meditate, allow yourself to drop in and listen to your inner guidance and be held in the stillness of the universe. I sit at my altar and I ask the Crystals to tell me who would like to work with me each day. I hold one of my Crystal friends in my hand as I meditate. Crystals are amazing companions for meditation as they enhance and help us open up to our inner guidance and gently nudge on our healing path.

Journaling: Let yourself journal. I’ve just started journaling again after many years. It’s been such a beautiful practice over this past month just to get it out and allow what needs to come through to just flow through the pen.

So many of us have disconnected from writing as we type into our phones. I found that I’ve even had to relearn muscle memory of holding a pen in my hand. There is a connection between the brain and holding pen to paper that is unique and healing. Unlike writing into our phones, it is an ancient and it’s tapping into our natural organic way.

Have a nourishing breakfast. During these colder months, you may find yourself drawn to make warm porridge. Personally, I’ve been enjoying fruit in the morning and now during these cooler months, I’m adding oatmeal, warm quinoa, amaranth, or millet. With these warm nourishing flavors I add cinnamon, cardamom, allspice.. to add some sweetness, a date, and a little honey. This warm delicious breakfast is very sustaining and grounding.

Making food for ourselves is truly an act of self-love. Taking that time to prepare nourishment for you is love for you and that’s beautiful.

Energetic Protection. Before leaving the house, I use power shield from Petaltone Essences. It literally creates a shield around your auric field and I like to send it out in1000 miles in each direction.

Ready to embark on a beautiful adventure of your day.

Invitation for a little bit of movement practice during your day. I found a 10 minute Qi-Gong morning practice from Lee Holden on YouTube that I love and is a great way to start the day, especially if you don’t have time to get to the gym, take a walk, go to a yoga class, Pilates, weightlifting, or whatever practice brings your body joy. Movement is vital and important as we process through emotions. Movement helps us release, let go and be able to tap into our magical resilience.

The end of day wind down: When you come home in the evening after your day of adventures, clearing the energy of the day is a vital way to prepare your body for the slowing down process of the evening. Taking a warm bath with Epsom salts and essential oils or a nice warm shower upon your return to your sanctuary is so helpful in letting your body relax and let go of the day behind you. Salt is great for clearing energy. Take a bowl of sea salt. Add a little baking soda in a bowl and scrub your body gently, adding a little bit of water to make a paste.

You can repeat internally or out loud:

”I release all the energy from this day. I cleanse and clear my body my mind in my spirit thank you Water. Thank you for clearing and cleansing me.” 

Find your own words and what feels natural to you. This clearing ritual is good to do in the shower. Picture the water coming through the top of your head and clearing all of your chakras and Auric field clearing everything off of you purifying you.

Crystal Clearing: Using Selenite to clear your field is also extremely helpful. I carry one in my car as well as I have around the base of my bed and many places in my house, including Selenite lamps.

You can literally use it to cut energy around your body. Take the Selenite knife, sword or wand and clear it around your body from head to toe. Another helpful support is the Petaltone essences we carry at the shop. At the end of the day to clear, I love XO as well as Clear 2 Light to quiet everything down after a busy day of output all of us at the shop use HG Rosea.

In the evening time, it’s really nice to keep your lighting low and dim as we invite our bodies to move towards the rest state. Crystal lamps are a beautiful addition to your home. I have Rose Quartz and Selenite lamps throughout my house.

Bedtime Ritual: An hour before bed, I turn off my phone to begin the process of moving into rest. I personally turn off my Wi-Fi in the evening before we go to bed. It allows for a deeper rest. I have my Wi-Fi plugged into a power strip, and I just flip the switch right before bedtime. Try it, you might be surprised at how much it invites you into a deeper state of rest. Remove all electronics from your room. Turn them off. I’ve had so many clients come and tell me they’re having sleeping issues and I ask are you sleeping with your phone next to your bed? Sure they have an airplane mode, but it’s right next to your bed. It’s still emitting energy and it definitely affects your sleep.

If you’re having a challenging evening, it’s helpful to lay on the ground and do some deep breathing and connecting to Mother Earth before bedtime. I found myself just literally falling asleep on the floor at the base of my bed and gently crawling into bed for a deep night sleep.

It’s important to block out as much light as possible. Blackout curtains and making sure that you have a dark space to sleep in is very important for a good night sleep, as well as quieting sounds. I sleep with wax earplugs nightly. You can get silicone as well. They work well and are more gentle on the ears than the foam kind. My favorites are Mack’s.

As we know, sleep is incredibly vital for us to be our absolute best.
